The Watermelon Spandex Shorts are here to serve color, muscle and hopes for a brighter future. Inspired by the ideas of social justice, the Watermelon print invokes the promotion of human rights, the abolition of apartheid states, as well as a call to end all genocides. 

The symbolism of the watermelon has practical origins rooted in the resistance against restrictions on displaying the Palestinian flag. In the 1960s and 1970s, Israeli authorities often prohibited the public display of the Palestinian flag or its colors. In response, Palestinians began using everyday objects that mimicked the flag's colors as a form of protest and expression of national identity. The watermelon, with its naturally occurring red, green, white, and black colors, became an effective and subtle way to circumvent these restrictions.
