In a vital step to uphold respect for our community, we at LED Queens will be abandoning the Twitter platform this week due to significant changes in Twitter's policies under CEO Elon Musk's leadership.
Musk has allowed users to freely misgender people on Twitter, undermining respectful dialogue and potentially exposing trans people to harassment. He has controversially declared cis and cisgender as slurs, triggering discussions about online harassment of marginalized communities. His tweets accusing media and schools of "racism against whites & Asians" without evidence overlook systemic racial inequalities and can fuel divisiveness.
As the owner of a brand dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community and POC, I can't endorse a platform with such policies. This week, we'll set our Twitter to private and start removing all of our posts.
TikTok, our best publishing platform to date, offers a more inclusive (though still imperfect) space for engagement. You can also find us on Instagram, but to be honest, our best content lives on TikTok.
Have a great Pride month, don't put up with homophobes and transphobes like Elon Musk, and keep it queer.
