We Changed Our Spandex Fabric. Here's Why

LED Queens spandex is back—but if you've been with us since the beginning, the gear you'll find in the store today feels different than what you remember. That's not an accident. We changed fabric in 2026, and you deserve to know why.

Over the past year, one of our main manufacturers changed fabrics because of the impact of tariffs. That means they updated the fabric across their entire catalog, which is where LED Queens makes many of its spandex products. The new fabric blend is what I'm calling RealGrip—a firmer, more structured performance fabric that holds its shape through every set and produces sharper, more vivid prints than anything we've run before. It's closer to serious athletic gear than to standard athleisure, and that was an intentional decision. This new fabric also retains color better and has less ghosting. Customers had been asking for more structure and support in the gym, as well as better finish on the colors. RealGrip is the answer to that.

To everyone who loved the original LED Queens fabric—I'm sorry. I know how good it felt, and I know that kind of softness and stretch is hard to replace. Things change. Brands change. This one changed on purpose, and I stand behind it. But I also want to acknowledge what you had, because it was real and it was good.

The original fabric is no longer available.

What is available, starting today: Cubensis, Chile Anaranjado, and Neon Cassette Spandex Shorts—three classics back in stock, now in RealGrip fabric. More prints are coming back gradually. This is the beginning of a rebuilt catalog, not the end of one.

If you have questions about the fabric change, I put together a full breakdown at ledqueens.com/pages/realgrip. And if you want to talk through it directly, reach out.
