We’re Skipping Black Friday to Build Something Better

We Will Not Bombard You this Black Friday
We are swimming in a frenzy of capitalistic greed and oppression. As the spending power of the American middle class keeps shrinking, the government shutdown continues, SNAP benefits are cut off for millions of Americans, and layoffs plague many major industries, here at LED Queens we don’t believe that mindless consumption is thoughtful or necessary during the holiday season. There’s a better way to move forward as a community.
This year, we will not be holding a massive Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale. Instead, we’ve adjusted all our prices to be more fair and competitive for our customers. We’ll also be dropping lots of new shorts, tights, and other gear into the store this month — all at these lower, more value-driven prices. Now your spending power goes further inside our store. Rather than bombarding you with email campaigns that pressure you to overspend, we’re simply here to support your choices. Even though we are a very small business and want to flourish, we are not entitled to infinite growth, nor should we be. But we also do thank you for supporting us for the past 8 years through our steady, but values-focused growth.
If you want to see my new designs first, sign up for our email updates — we’ll share each new release, along with stories from the community that inspire all of us to resist capitalism and decolonize our society and our minds. You can also explore all our current collections right what’s new right now in the Shop All Collections section of our store.
Additional Steps You Can Take to Push Back on Capitalistic Greed
People’s Union USA is a grassroots organization committed to stopping corporate gouging and greedy practices, and to empowering people — not corporations. They recently published their October list of companies being boycotted this season to promote corporate accountability: Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Walmart, Disney, and Ben & Jerry’s. You can read more and participate in their proposed blackout here: thepeoplesunionusa.com/boycotts.
